Edison Home
Mod.
D
2/4 Min. combination player
with Cygnet horn and crane
1908 - 1911

First
of the factory 2/4 minute combination homes,
the Home is defined by the inline feed screw, that was
in earlier 2 min. only
models connected directly to the mandrel, but in the
"D" and later models
the feed screw is connected through a clutch and gear
setup to change the
carriage speed for two or four minute operation.
Homes
have a stronger spring and motor than the smaller Standard machines,
and were priced higher. They were offered with a number
of packages of horns,
reproducers and accessories. The "D" was first issued
with an "H" 4 minute
and a "C" 2 minute reproducer, later with a
combination
type "K" reproducer
and the Diamond B was used.
The label in the lid is instructions on the use of the 2-4
reproducers

This
machine as can be seen is a real find, all original finish on cabinet
and
bedplate,
the decals show very little wear and are bright as you
can see. The motor and upper
works are very quiet and work very well.
The
reproducer provided with this machine is an "H" 4 min. and will play
all 4 min.
records, Blue Amberol and wax Amberol. If you
desire a 2 min "C" reproducer to
complete your machine one may be
purchased at a cut rate at time of sale.
All
is original on this machine, with the exception of the horn, the crane,
and bracket,
and Reproducer which are reproduction.

The
price for this great machine that you will be proud
to own and show off,
ready to play no fixing necessary.
